Hey (outdoor) party people!

It's time for the first, and arguably best, trip of the semester- BUSHBALL (27th-29th). This legend of a trip has been going since 1974 and involves a relatively cruisy walk into Mt Aspiring Hut, where there will be a 3 course feast followed by an unforgettable* night of dancing and partying in the magical NZ wilderness.

This year the theme is ~ Mt Olympus (Greek Gods & Goddesses) ~. So get those creative juices flowing, embrace your inner Zeus/Aphrodite/Hades and dress to IMPRESS because there will be prizes. And maybe a cute someone you're interested in.

If this sounds like an ideal way to spend your weekend then (a) we'll get along, and (b) you MUST attend the pre-meet on Tuesday 24th at 7PM in BURNS 2 LECTURE THEATRE. The trip will cost $90 and you must bring this to the premeet as we take payment on the night - this covers transport, hut fees, 2x dinners, breakfast, alcohol etc.

At the pre-meet we'll fill you in on how the weekend will run, what you need to bring etc etc. In the meantime here is a brief overview of the weekend:

  • Leave Dunedin on Friday after 5pm

  • Dinner at the Beaumont pub

  • Camp at Raspberry flats

  • Walk into Mt Aspiring Hut (a few cheeky festivities along the way)

  • Optional walk up the valley in the afternoon

  • Worm wrestling competition

  • Dinner and dance partayyy

  • Sunday walk out and drive home

Finally if you know anyone who would love to come but are not a member of OUTC, they MUST sign up at the Club meeting (Tuesday, 5-6pm, OUSA building, Albany St) prior to the pre-meet at 7pm in order to sign up for this trip.

On a side note there is also a club gear buy night at Bivouac on Thursday 26th, 6-8pm with a 20% discount. Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday!

Much love from your social managers of mischief,

Jackie & Alex

P.S. In case you somehow need more convincing, here's a photo taken outside the hut last year..
